Sermons on Grace
A Gracious World
From the book Rev. Zerby has been preaching about, we define grace as the unfailing commitment to love all persons regardless of their beliefs. Resistance to the things that are wrong in the world will take courage and conviction. It will require us to be there for our neighbors.
Gracious Religion
We honor God with our choices. We are all held accountable to God for the way we live and the way we love. The moment we stop striving for peace and love, they will know that we aren’t practicing what God wants from us.
Living Graciously
Just because we welcome everyone doesn’t mean we accept all behavior. We still need to love people even if we can’t accept their behavior. We need to show grace even if for our own safety we need to put distance between ourselves and certain others. God loves them, too, even if we need distance.
Being Gracious
When we have no power, we work for change by being gracious. When we have the power, do we work for change through power and force, or can we continue to work through being gracious?
Speaking of Grace
Grant and receive grace, through openness, understanding and communication.
Grace Breaking In
Fear vs. Hope. What do we fear? What keeps us from hope? The joy when Grace breaks in.
Are We Hypocrites?
Do we want to help others or are we unwilling to build relationships? Jesus invites us to walk a new walk.
Accepting Gifts
God places gifts in front of us if we will just open our eyes.
New Life in Christ
We have moments when we act out, however God’s grace still prevails. Let the grace we receive be the grace we give.
