Sermons
Palm Sunday
Like those who celebrated Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem. We find ourselves in the middle, but God will lead us.
When we are Lost … When we are Found
We can become so lost we don’t recognize the path back. Sin is a disturbance between us and God, but remember you are a beloved child of God. God will always celebrate when we are found, let us join in that celebration.
Faithful or Faithless
Martha was the good servant, doing what was needed. Mary sat and listened. Sitting with the word of God is important, too. What matters is not what we do, but how/why we do it.
Stranger or neighbor
How do we recognize that everyone in our community is our neighbor? Everyone deserves our love. Everyone receives God’s love.
With All Your Heart, Love
If we don’t transform hate, we will transmit it. Human beings are not the enemy. The enemy is the violence and injustice inside us all.
Trust God
When the ground is swept from beneath our feet, can we, will we trust in God. There is goodness to be beheld even in trouble.
We Can’t Look Away
God calls us to welcome the immigrant, the refugee. Jesus was an undocumented refugee as a child. We cannot look away.
There will be Herods
There will be those who try to block shalom. God’s love cannot be stopped, it gets through the cracks. Will we be faithful?
God with Us
God reminds us that God is always with us.
A Reflection on the First Nowell
God will lead us to the Good News that is shalom on earth.
