Sermons on Luke (Page 3)
If These Walls Could Talk
It isn’t our saintliness, it is God’s ability to work through sinners. Saints are humans just like us who struggle with all the same things we do.
Triggered
Jesus wants us to welcome the questionable, the outcast, the marginalized. Jesus tells the story of the lost sheep, not for the 1, but for the 99 who are just as lost. “No one is free until all are free.”
Who is Worthy?
Jesus kept blurring boundaries to welcome the outcast, the different, the other. Do we? We can’t ignore the real problems in the world. We will experience a blessing which changes us for the better.
You Can’t Take It With You
We may work hard, but we don’t do it all on our own. What if we recognized our interdependence? What if we we give back to the community that helped us get here. Say, “Thank you!”
Follow Me
What must be done, the right thing, the just thing, is not always easy.
Freedom
None are free until all are free
Hosanna!
The Hosannas become an anthem of resistance and a cry for love.
A Love With No Boundaries
To love with our whole heart, means that sometimes our heart will break. But God doesn’t care, God loves us and welcomes us home. We have played each part in this story, let us play the part of the father and includes and celebrates the one who returns home.
Repent or Perish
Change your heart and your life to bring the new reality of life and justice you seek. Failing to do this is like death. Get to work, the good news is that there is still time.
God Provides All We Need
When we have struggled or thought the world was against us, the promises of God continue to spill over. God is always here, grace can show up in the blink of an eye.
