We announced last month that we are running a program from now through 5 July to collect good quality coffee that we will be sending to a US Army chaplain in Iraq. As many of you are aware, Pastor Ruth’s father is an Army chaplain who spent a year in Iraq. He says that one of the best ways the chaplain can help out the troops is just by listening and the best way to get them to come in and talk is to provide good quality coffee, so that’s whay we’re going to try to do. There is a box in the narthex where you can drop off coffee (plus there is a sheet there that you can sign and leave a little note for the soldiers, if you’d like) or you can donate money and we will purchase the coffee in July. Also, note that Chief Cooker in town has agreed to help us with this worthwhile project by providing a discount if you tell them you are a member of Grace Church. And. last but not least, LTC Farrell (Pastor Ruth’s father) will join us for worship on 5 July to wrap up the program, so please join us and help us support the troops.
